Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Pasadena, CA
The proposed project replaces an existing structure that was built in 1929 and does not have the capacity for additional seating as well as necessary amenities for an expanding congregation.
Project components consisted of:
New sanctuary
New Administrative area
Fellowship hall
Commercial kitchen
Courtyard for outdoor activities
New parking and site landscaping
Renovation of existing house at the east side to maintain for auxiliary use
The church provides various services for the community including drug rehabilitation program, school enrollment, free lunch and dinner for special occasions.

As a symbol of what “history is” a metal sculpture was created with copper, bronze and chrome.

Baldwin Park Adult Mental Care Center
The primary task of this facility was to house temporarily the adults between 20 and 50 who struggle with bi-polar disorder and long term depression. The facility provided food as well as social events for the residents. In addition the center provided detoxification program for those struggling with drug abuse.

The project is on a site that has 3 buildings, one a sanctuary, the second, administrative and the third the Sunday school building.
The primary design tasks for the project were:
Create a new presence in the street front at Park St.
Create a new entrance and vestibule from the main entrance from parking
Increase the size of sanctuary thus increase seats for new congregants.
Redesign the administrative area to accommodate a larger daycare and more offices
Provide adequate utilities for the increasing size of congregation and total number of seats provided
Redesign the site to accommodate increased number of stalls and provide new landscaping for the parking area
Create a new location for trash enclosures
Provide a better traffic pattern in and out of the site

Persepolis - USA. Irvine, California
Project program aimed at creating a cultural center for museum, permanent and moving exhibition, scholarly conventions, movie and performing arts theater, classes on arts and crafts, Several restaurants with various culinary menus, conference center, lecture halls, offices and residences.

YMCA – West San Gabriel Valley
The design requirements for this project were:
Create a new daycare center for children including new classrooms, teaching kitchen, director and nurses office, computer/network access counter and related utilities
Expand and double the size of existing Gym
Add a new family shower and locker room areas
Update the parking area and related site area for compliance with ADA
Given the budget’s extreme constraint the project had to be re-programmed several times to achieve the goal of the institution for this development. In the process the expansion to the Gym was put on hold for a future phase.
Given a distinct style of the original building designed and built in the 1980,s, the same vocabulary of existing architecture was adapted to create a seamless transition between the existing and new.
