
Baldwin Park Adult Mental Care Center
The primary task of this facility was to house temporarily the adults between 20 and 50 who struggle with bi-polar disorder and long term depression. The facility provided food as well as social events for the residents. In addition the center provided detoxification program for those struggling with drug abuse.
The facility helped the residents in sharpening their work skills, resume, interviewing skills and other assistance to provide transition from their struggling life in to a normal productive life.
The site selected had several structures that needed to be renovated. In addition a major two story residential hotel was also proposed along with new outdoor gathering areas and sports.
Project met hard resistance by local residence and eventually did not go forward.
